Designing for occupiers

Hammerson designs buildings to meet the needs of occupiers.

The extensive research we carry out early in the planning process informs the design of our buildings, allowing us to tailor properties to the likely needs of our future occupiers and their customers.

For anchor stores and some of our major City office buildings, we work with the future occupier on building design from pre-planning to completion. This flexible approach allows us to meet specific needs which may be difficult to accommodate with an off-the-shelf solution.

Hammerson is working closely with John Lewis to design anchor stores for the retailer in Sheffield and Leeds following the successful opening of its Foreign Office-designed store anchoring Highcross Leicester.

In the City, after leasing 76,000 m² offices at Bishops Square to Allen & Overy, we worked closely with the international law firm on design requirements and fitout. In Paris, we similarly worked with Clifford Chance to customise the design of their 14,000 m² offices at 9 Place Vendôme.
